Wonderful is the first description of this book that comes to mind. The illustrations are beautiful, with excellent use of muted color and texture to depict the narrative. The text is simple enough for young readers, but obviously has deeper meaning. The CD is perfect to put on before bedtime: the tunes are mellow and expressive. The translations of the prayers are accurate, simple enough for younger readers, yet not oversimplified as to lose context and meaning. Though some may object to the allusion to “resting in God’s hand,” this book is very highly recommended for all libraries, and as a gift for babies or for children who are learning the prayers. It will become a beloved part of the nightly bedtime routine.
