Wonderful is the first description of this book that comes to mind. The illustrations are beautiful, with excellent use of muted color and texture to depict the narrative. The text is simple enough for young readers, but obviously has deeper meaning. The CD is perfect to put on before bedtime: the tunes are mellow and expressive.
